At Northminster Preschool, we offer 3, 4 or 5 day a week Program options (half day or full day) for children 18 months old to kindergarten age. For our older students, we strongly recommend a 4 or 5 day program to help prepare them for the transition into Kindergarten or into Transitional Kindergarten.
Our Pre-K / Pre-TK program focuses on public school readiness including: pre-reading and writing skills, working independently, and developing important social skills all within a nurturing and caring environment. Our class sizes are a maximum of 15 students with 2 teachers which enables us to give children much more individualized attention than they will find in a public school setting.
Northminster Preschool primarily follows the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) holiday and closure schedule. Our first day of the Fall program begins the week after SDUSD starts. Our last day of school is the Friday before SDUSD goes on Summer Break.
Core Hours: 9:00am - 12:00pm Before Care: 8:00am - 9:00am Lunch Bunch: 12:00pm - 1:00pm After Care: 1:00pm - 4:30pm
Extended Care (Before Care, Lunch Bunch and After Care) is an hourly charge billed on the quarter hour the month after services are rendered. Discounted Contract Rates are available for students staying a Full Day from 8:00am - 4:30pm every day.
Extended Care is available to all of our enrolled students on any day they attend Preschool whether they are on a Discounted Extended Care contract or not.
This is an example of a typical day at our Preschool for the current school year:
8:00am - Drop off is open for early Before Care (extra charge)
9:00am - Classes Start
9:15am - Opening circle time (welcome, calendar, songs, stories, sharing)
9:30am - Arts & crafts, free play, instructional time or outdoor time
10:30am - Snack time (healthy snack is provided)
10:45am - Arts & crafts, free play, instructional time or outdoor time (switch)
11:45am - Closing Circle time
12:00pm - Half Day Student pick up
12:05pm - 1:00pm Lunch Bunch and free play (extra charge)
1:00pm - Lunch Bunch Student Pick up
1:15pm - 1:30pm - Rest time begins
3:00pm - 3:15pm - Rest time ends
3:30am - Afternoon Snack, free play, arts & crafts
There is a non-refundable Registration Fee (only one per family and discounted for military and church members)
There is a non-refundable Tuition Deposit equal to 1/2 of one month’s tuition. This will be applied toward September’s Tuition.
There is a monthly cleaning fee per student.
Extended Care is charged hourly and billed on the quarter hour the month after services are rendered. Discounted Contract rates are available for students using Full Day Extended Care every day.
We offer a 10% discount for the concurrently enrolled younger siblings tuition.
We offer a 10% discount to all active military families.
One discount per family may be applied.
