Northminster Preschool offers a quaint, family friendly and laid back environment Their teachers are well educated and experienced and they truly cherish the students. They have unique and educational enrichment programs, flexible schedules and smaller class sizes with low student-teacher ratios. We even elected to keep her with Northminster Preschool rather than sending her to UTK because of the wonderful administration and teachers.

“For the past four decades, I have benefitted from being a part of the amazing Northminster Preschool family. My experience with Northminster started when I, my sister, and my brother each attended as preschool student approximately 40 years ago. This time was so special for us, that we each still remember the names of our teachers. Still living in the neighborhood where we grew up, it was a no-brainer that my sister had her children attend. And my brother traveled 20 miles out of the way to ensure his son attended as well. My daughter is currently a student, loving every day.

Northminster is special for so many reasons. Your child is a name, not a number. From the front office staff to the playground staff to the classroom teachers, everyone who works at Northminster goes out of their way to get to know the personality and needs of every child and their family. Classroom time is designed to be interactive and engaging. Kids aren’t just given free rein to play for a bunch of hours. From circle time to themed learning lessons, to hosted snack times, to individual birthday celebrations, students are given the opportunity to participate, learn, lead, and grow at their own healthy pace.

At Northminster, communication is fantastic. The online app allows for messaging between parents, teachers, and staff throughout the day, and lets you receive and send information and updates. It also allows you to receive pictures and videos from your child’s day so you can ask them targeted questions about what they did, who they played with, and what they learned. The staff also sends out weekly newsletters about upcoming events, activities, and so much more. Teachers also send out a monthly newsletter about what they will be teaching, classroom activities, birthdays.

Ultimately, Northminster goes above and beyond. They host parent nights’ out, child development speakers, and great fundraising events. On any given month, kids will be welcomed to school by singing pirates, pony rides, Irish dancers, Easter egg hunts, themed parties, and so much more. This past Christmas, Northminster transformed the school into the Chronicles of Narnia, where children and families entered the wardrobe and walked through the enchanted forest. They then hosted a traditional morning tea with amazing decorations and sweet treats. The moment was especially touching when I ran into my preschool teacher from forty years ago and we were able to get a picture with my daughter.

We all want the best for our children. During their formative developmental years we want them to be surrounded by people who will love and care for them as we do. Northminster does just that by making every child who attends truly feel like family.”

“I heart Northminster!!! I was so nervous about putting my son into school, and visited MANY preschools. Luckily a client of mine and I were talking about where I lived and when I said Clairemont she immediately said "oh, I wish we still lived there as the preschool Northminster was awesome, I wish my kids still went there"! This was what I needed to hear and set up an appointment right after. Now I'm moving away and feel so sad to have to leave this school. The teachers are amazing, many have been there for years. Which speaks for how well the school is run. They are all passionate and caring. Teaching about sharing, being kind and getting along with others. It's a play based, creative school, where the kids do lots of art. They model a project and then let them express themselves and celebrate they're creations never making them "stay within the lines" Academics are taught with fun engaging games. My 3 yr old can count to 30. Recite his abc's. Knows his colors and randomly sings wonderful songs he learned in school. They are good at adapting to each student’s level. We feel so blessed to have been part of the Northminster family. Thanks to the Northminster team.”

Northminster Preschool has been the perfect preschool for our son for the last two years! We loved it the second that we toured the school and it has been a wonderful experience ever since. The teachers have cared for our son like he was family and the administration is great to correspond with and is very responsive. We have seen our son flourish there! The entire staff - from the teachers, to the director, to the pastor - are very kind and really care for the children. When the world shut down due to COVID-19, the preschool did the same but has since found a way to reopen its doors with many safety protocols in place giving us peace of mind.
