November 9th 2018 PG Meeting Minutes


Friday, November 9th, 2018 – Noon to 1pm

  1. Craft Fair Saturday, December 1 from 10am-1pm

  • Please help spread the word for attendance and vendors

    • Flyers- Please pass out!

    • Banner is up advertising craft fair in front of church on Clairemont Mesa Blvd

    • Facebook/Nextdoor- Please advertise for the craft/vendor fair on neighborhood facebook groups and Nextdoor app.  The event is open to the public.

    • There are 12 crafts and enough materials to make 100 of each craft.  Additionally, there will be canvas bags with the Northminster Logo to decorate and hold crafts.  Each craft is $2.50. For $25, each child may make all 12 crafts and get the tote bag for free. Tote bags will be $3 if purchased separately.

      If children are unable to complete all the crafts that day, they may take items "to go" to complete at home.  

  • Volunteers:

    • People who have volunteered to lead a craft: supplies have been ordered and you may pick up the supplies for your craft the weekend after Thanksgiving at Sarah Collins' house or Monday after Thanksgiving at school.  Please make one sample of your craft and make a notecard with directions to make the craft as volunteers will be staffing the tables to help. Examples of helpful hints to put on notecard: "glue takes 1 min to dry for this step before moving to next step", "help kids glue the pom poms on for this step".
      Wednesday, November 28 meeting at Sarah Collins' house right after drop-off to finalize planning for craft/vendor fair
      Friday, November 30 after drop-off, please stay to help set up for the craft/vendor fair.  You may bring a lunch for your child and you if you stay to help set up during lunch bunch, your child gets free lunch bunch that day.
      Saturday, December 1 please arrive at 9:30 am to help set up.

  • Volunteer sign-up sheets

    • Volunteers are needed to staff craft tables and to help on Sat Dec 1.  If you know any middle school or high school children, please get in touch with them to see if they can help out.  They can earn volunteer hours.

  • Sponsorships

    • Please see email from school sent this week regarding sponsorships for craft tables.  Google docs link is in email. Might be a great idea to ask grandparents to sponsor a craft table.  May pay online.

  • Silent Auction

    • Each class is responsible for supplying items for baskets.  Each classroom now has a box in front with a list of suggested items to donate.  Class parents may want to create a spreadsheet/google doc to email parents to get signups for certain items.

  • Dec. 3- Dine-N- Donate- Chipotle and Yogurtland

Next Parent Group Meeting:  Friday, December 14th, 2018 – Fireside Room 12-1pm

Lunch Bunch is free for enrolled children, please bring their lunch

When signing them out, put "PG" next to signature to indicate it is a free lunch bunch bc you were at parent group meeting.
