NORTHMINSTER PARENT GROUP MEETING MINUTES

The first Parent Group meeting of the 2016-17 school year was a success. Many parents and a grandparent were in attendance and eager to learn about the upcoming school year. Here is a list of the 2016-17 Parent Group Board.
President - Jennifer Haak
Vice President - OPEN POSITION
Secretary- Jeannette Swanson
Rummage Sale Coordinator - OPEN POSITION (Collected items are usually for the 0-7 age range, items are tax deductible and left overs are donated to local military families)
Carnival Chair - OPEN POSITION
Silent Auction Chair - Leslie Neilson
Kindergarten Options Night will take place September 30th. Choice Office will be present, flyers will be provided and some representing schools will be in attendance.
Open House is coming up October 21st and the Parent Group will be hosting $1 Ice Cream Social from 6-7p.m. Volunteers signed up at this meeting, but we still need a few more volunteers to help at one hour intervals for the social.
Our highly anticipated Wild West Carnival will take place November 5th from 10a.m.-2p.m. The Co-Marshall position still needs to be filled and we still need volunteers for various tasks including basket assembly, rock baking and ticket sales. An October Carnival Meeting is TBD.
Wild West Carnival Committee Task Notes
Game Booths- Sell food, bake sale, pony rides, silent auction
Classroom Baskets- Baskets will be made available the last week of September/first week of October. Asked for volunteers.
Volunteers- Needed for prep work. Families are asked to donate 2 volunteer hours/year and 1 hour is asked to be donated for the carnival
Vendor/Marketing/Graphics- Andree will book face painting. Vendor activities have already been booked. Volunteers will be reimbursed for advertisements.
Other Carnival-related notes:
Marketing help is needed and this can be done remotely. Tasks may include posting flyer online and creating and sharing events.
